GUIDELINES FOR ARTISAN VENDORS

  • Park Your Arts 2008 is sponsored by the Friends of the Upper Marlboro Library and will be held September 7 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. in conjunction with the Friends of the Upper Marlboro Library annual book sale fundraiser.

  • The festival is outdoors, on the shaded pedestrian mall linking the Prince George’s County Administration Building and the courthouse on Main Street in the Town of Upper Marlboro.

  • In case of emergency, notice of cancellation will be posted on the festival website, www.parkyourarts.com, by 8 a.m. September 7.

  • This is a juried event for original, handcrafted artworks only. Park Your Arts reserves the right to limit total entries for each category and to prohibit specific items and/or vendors from inclusion in the festival for nonconforming work. Craft demonstrations during the festival are encouraged.

  • The non-refundable vendor exhibit fee is $50 per 10’ x 15’ space, paid by check or money order with submission of the application. (Original payments from applicants rejected by the jury panel for nonconforming work or lack of space will be returned within two weeks of submission.)

  • Exhibit placement will be made in accordance with the indicated choices and in the date order of receipt of application. Park Your Arts reserves the right to make any modification necessary to adjust space arrangements to meet the needs of the festival.

  • Vendor lists and exhibit space assignments will be regularly updated on the festival website, www.parkyourarts.com. Other advertising material will be provided as available.

  • The exhibit fee includes a nearby parking space with ramp access to the festival site. Vendors provide their own tents, tables and chairs. All presentations and other promotional activities must be confined to the exhibit area and assigned exhibit space. Electricity will not be provided and no generators are allowed.

  • Set up time is 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. All exhibits must be completely dismantled by 7 p.m. Each vendor is responsible for keeping the area around his or her exhibit clean and free of debris. Trash receptacles will be provided on site.

  • Cash sales are permitted in the exhibit space designated. Payment of sales tax and other legal business requirements are the sole responsibility of the vendor. During the event all purchasers of goods shall be furnished with a bill of sale and/or an appropriate sales receipt.

  • Violation of these guidelines during the festival, including an exhibit which becomes objectionable because of method of operation or noise or that distracts from the general character of the festival, may result in immediate closure or removal of the vendor, without refund.

  • The Friends of the Upper Marlboro Library will not be held liable or responsible for any act of God, or any events beyond its control that might result in postponement, delay, or cancellation of this event or for damage to vendors’ personal property and effects.

  • Application payments by check to the Friends of the Upper Marlboro Library returned for insufficient funds or stop payment will result in a fee for the full amount of the exhibit space.
